Ever improving fabrics and the use of more sumptuous fillings are catering for a more discerning market whereby comfort is as important as any styling or design. The changing behaviour of the British people sees each of us spending more time in our homes on laptops, watching flat screen televisions and drinking cheap alcohol bought from the local supermarket. Making a house a comfortable home is a priority, and the importance placed on cars, clothing and footwear is now expanding to include beds and sofas.
The "Twist" is coming to represent much of the new designs available today and furniture makers are reviving or revving up previous styles by utlilising modern fabrics and mixing contrasting styles. What this does is to suggest a natural evolution for the industry which is utilising the latest in modern technology and combining it with the designs and styles of yesterday.
